ReefCMD is a reef aquarium management tool. All parameter tracking, health scores, AI-generated recommendations, and stocking suggestions are provided for informational and reference purposes only. Nothing in ReefCMD constitutes professional aquatic or veterinary advice.

Recommendations generated by ReefCMD are produced by a large language model (Anthropic Claude) using your tank data as context. AI outputs may be incomplete, incorrect, or unsuitable for your specific situation. Always cross-reference with reputable reef-keeping resources and use your own judgment before acting on any recommendation.

The "Identify Animal" action in AI Assist accepts a photo of a fish, coral, or invertebrate and returns: (a) the model's best guess at species identity and (b) a read on visible health cues (color, polyp/fin condition, lesions, bleaching, etc.).

• Identifications are best-guesses from a single image. Confidence varies with photo clarity, lighting, angle, and species rarity. Hybrids, juveniles, and uncommon species are especially error-prone. Always cross-reference with a reputable hobbyist resource or an LFS expert before purchase or major care decisions.
• Health readings are surface-level observations, not a veterinary diagnosis. The model can flag visible cues like coloration shifts, fin erosion, possible spots, or coral recession. It cannot replace a hands-on examination, water testing, or veterinary/aquatic-specialist consult. Suspected diseases (ich, velvet, brooklynella, coral STN/RTN, etc.) need confirmation through closer inspection and an experienced opinion.
• Never make treatment, medication, or euthanasia decisions based on ReefCMD's AI read alone. Misdiagnosis can stress a healthy animal further, mask the real issue, or kill livestock outright. When in doubt, quarantine, observe, and seek qualified human help.
• The existing "No liability for livestock or equipment" clause below applies in full to identifications and health checks. ReefCMD LLC is not responsible for outcomes from actions taken on AI output.

AI Assist accepts a photo and an optional note. All four actions send the image to Anthropic’s Claude AI service to generate a response. The difference is what ReefCMD does with the image and response afterward.

• Analyze — Troubleshooting for controllers, parameters, equipment, or general reef issues.
  Your image is processed by Anthropic’s AI, and the response is shown only in your browser. ReefCMD does not save the image or response, and no person at ReefCMD reviews it.
• Identify Animal — Species identification and visible health observations.
  Uses the same private workflow as Analyze, but with a different AI prompt.
• Send to ReefCMD — Human support review.
  Your image and the AI-generated response are saved and sent to ReefCMD’s support inbox so a real reef keeper can review the issue and reply by email.
• Submit Feedback — Product feedback or bug reporting.
  Your image, notes, and the AI-generated response are sent to ReefCMD as feedback to help improve the app.

AI Assist (the photo-upload analysis on the Dashboard) is rate-limited to protect the service against runaway cost. Current caps:

• Free trial accounts: 10 analyses per 24-hour rolling window, per account.
• Paid accounts: 25 analyses per 24-hour rolling window, per account.
• Live demo (shared by every visitor at reefcmd.com): 5 analyses per 24-hour rolling window, total across the demo.
• App-wide circuit breaker: 150 analyses per 24h across all accounts combined. Stops a swarm of sign-ups from draining the API budget; rarely hit in normal use.

Hit your cap and AI Assist will tell you how long until reset. We may raise these limits as usage data tells us where the sane line is. Want unlimited or higher caps for a justified use case? Email info@reefcmd.com.

ReefCMD LLC is not responsible for livestock deaths, coral loss, equipment failure, tank crashes, or any other outcome resulting from actions taken based on information provided by this app. Reef aquarium keeping involves inherent risk. You assume full responsibility for your tank and its inhabitants.

Parameter readings, animal lists, and settings are entered by you. ReefCMD does not verify the accuracy of user-entered data and makes no guarantees about the correctness of any derived scores or analyses.
